[CHORUS:]
G- D G- C- D
Come away, O human child – To the wood and waters wild!
G- D G –
With a Gobbelin, claw in hand…
C- G- D G-
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
C- G- D G-
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.
G- D G-
Where dips the rocky highland, of dark woods in the lake,
G- D G-
There lies a leafy island, Where circling vultures wake
C- G- C- D
The drowsy water rats; There we’ve hid our Gobbelin vats,
C- G- C- D
Full of Bella Donna Berries, and the clipped wings of faerys.
[CHORUS-]
Come away, O human child – To the wood and waters wild…
Where the wave of moonlight glosses, the dim gray sands with light,
Far off by furthest Rosses, we foot it all the night,
Weaving olden dances, mingling claws and crossing lances
C- D G-
‘Till the moon has taken flight!
G- D G-
Where the wandering water gushes, from the hills above Glen-Car,
G- C- D
To and fro we leap, while the world is full of sleep
We brew, bubble, boil, toil and trouble
Quaffing Gobbelin drink Into the shadows we slink
[CHORUS-]
Come away, O human child – To the wood and waters wild…
In pools among the rushes, that scarce could bathe a star,
G- C- D
We seek for slumbering trout, and whispering in their ears
Give them evil dreams; Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears over the young streams!
[CHORUS-]
Come away, O human child – To the wood and waters wild…
Away with us he’s going, the knot has been tied
He’ll soon have the knowing of what waits on the other side
Blackthorn & Henbane, Wormwood & Wolfsbane –
C- D G-
Thornapples & the clinging vine!
[CHORUS, TAGX2]
For he comes, the Gobbelin child, To the woods and waters wild
With Gobbelin Claws on his hands!
For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand.
For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand.
For the world’s more full of weeping than we can understand. …. G-6
